കൊല്ലവർഷം 30 കളിൽ പഴകന്നൂർ ദേശം വാണിരുന്ന എന്ന ദേവദാസിയായ കാർവേണിയുടെ മകളാണ് അല്ലി. അവിടെയുള്ള ശിവക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ പൂജാരിയായ നമ്പിയുമായി അല്ലി പ്രണയത്തിലാവുകയും പിന്നീട് അവരെ വിവാഹം കഴിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. എന്നാൽ നമ്പിക്ക് നോട്ടം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നത് അല്ലയുടെ സ്വത്തു വകകളിൽ മാത്രമാണ്.
ഈ കാര്യം തിരിച്ചറിഞ്ഞ കാർവേണി നമ്പിയെ വീട്ടിൽ നിന്ന് പുറത്താക്കുകയാണ്. തൻ്റെ ഭർത്താവിനെ വീട്ടിൽനിന്ന് പുറത്താക്കിയപ്പോൾ അമ്മയുടെ വാക്ക് ധിക്കരിച്ചു കൊണ്ട് അല്ലിയും അദ്ദേഹത്തിൻ്റെ കൂടെ നമ്പിയുടെ കൂടെ വീട് വിട്ട് ഇറങ്ങുകയാണ്. വഴിമദ്ധ്യേ കള്ളിയങ്കാട് എന്ന് പറയുന്ന സ്ഥലത്ത് വച്ച് അവർ വിശ്രമിക്കാൻ വേണ്ടിയിരുന്നപ്പോൾ അല്ലി തൻ്റെ ഭർത്താവായ നമ്പിയുടെ മടിയിൽ തല വെച്ച് മയങ്ങിപ്പോയി. ആ സമയത്ത് ചതിയനായ നമ്പി തൻ്റെ ഭാര്യയെ വലിയൊരു കല്ല് കൊണ്ട് തലക്കടിച്ച് കൊലപ്പെടുത്തുകയും അല്ലിയുടെ ആഭരണങ്ങൾ മുഴുവൻ എടുത്ത് കടന്നു കളയുകയും ചെയ്യുകയാണ്.
ഇവരെ രണ്ടുപേരെയും തിരക്കിയിറങ്ങി അലിയുടെ സഹോദരൻ അമ്പി കാണുന്നത് ചോരയിൽ കുളിച്ചു കിടക്കുന്ന അല്ലിയെയാണ്. വിഷമം സഹിക്ക വയ്യാതെ വന്നപ്പോൾ അദ്ദേഹവും അവിടെവച്ച് തല തല്ലി മരിക്കുകയാണ്. അല്ലിയുടെ ആഭരണവുമായി കടന്നു കളഞ്ഞ നമ്പി കൂടുതൽ കാലം ഒന്നും ജീവിച്ചില്ല. കുറച്ച് ദിവസങ്ങൾക്കുള്ളിൽ തന്നെ അയാളും പാമ്പ് കടിയേറ്റ് മരണപ്പെടുകയാണ്.
ഈ കാര്യങ്ങളൊക്കെ നടന്ന് വർഷങ്ങൾ പിന്നിടുമ്പോൾ അല്ലിയും സഹോദരനായ അമ്പിയും ചോള രാജ്യത്തെ രാജാവിൻ്റെ മക്കളായിട്ട് നീലനും നീലിയുമായിട്ട് പുനർജനിക്കുകയാണ്. അവർ ജനിച്ചത് മുതൽ രാജ്യത്ത് ഒരുപാട് പ്രശ്നങ്ങൾ അരങ്ങേറാൻ തുടങ്ങി. അവിടെ പേമാരിയും പകർച്ചവ്യാധികളും ദുർമരണങ്ങളും ഒക്കെ കൂടി വന്നു. എന്നാൽ വൈകാതെ തന്നെ തൻ്റെ രാജ്യത്തിൻ്റെ മോശം അവസ്ഥയ്ക്ക് തൻ്റെ മക്കളായ നീലനും നീലിയും ആണ് കാരണം എന്ന് രാജാവ് ജോത്സ്യൻമാരിൽ നിന്ന് മനസ്സിലാക്കുകയാണ്. അതോടു കൂടെ തന്നെ ഇവരെ രണ്ടുപേരെയും നാടുകടത്താൻ രാജാവ് നിർബന്ധിതനാവുകയാണ്.
അങ്ങനെ ചോളരാജ്യത്തിൻ്റെ തെക്കേ അതിർത്തിയായ നാഗർകോവിലിന് സമീപത്തുള്ള പഞ്ചവൻകാട്ടിൽ രണ്ടുപേരെയും രാജാവ് ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുകയാണ്. എന്നാൽ അവർ രണ്ടു പേരും തങ്ങളുടെ പൈശാചിക ശക്തി കൊണ്ട് കാട്ടിൽ നിന്ന് പുറത്തുകടക്കുകയും പഴകന്നൂർ ദേശത്ത് പണ്ട് അല്ലി കൊല്ലപ്പെട്ട കള്ളിയൻ കാട്ടിൽ താമസമാക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. അതോടുകൂടിത്തന്നെ പഴകന്നൂരിൽ ദുർമരണങ്ങൾ നിത്യസംഭവമായി മാറാൻ തുടങ്ങി.
പകൽസമയങ്ങളിൽ പോലും കള്ളിയൻക്കാട് എന്ന് പറയുന്ന കള്ളിമുള്ളുകളും മലകളും നിറഞ്ഞ സ്ഥലത്തേക്ക് പ്രവേശിക്കാൻ അതിലൂടെ യാത്ര ചെയ്യാൻ വരെ ആളുകൾക്ക് ഭയമായി തുടങ്ങി.ഇനി അറിയാത്ത ആരെങ്കിലും അതിലൂടെ സഞ്ചരിച്ചാൽ തന്നെ അവരുടെ മൃതശരീരം പിറ്റേ ദിവസം നേരം പുലരുമ്പോൾ ഏതെങ്കിലും ഒരു പനയുടെ ചുവട്ടിൽ കിടപ്പുണ്ടാകും.

തൻ്റെ മുന്നിലുള്ളത് ഒരു യക്ഷിയാണെന്ന് മനസ്സിലാക്കിയപ്പോൾ ആനന്ദൻ ഓടി പഴകന്നൂർ ഗ്രാമത്തിൽ പ്രവേശിക്കുകയാണ്. എന്നാൽ നീലി അദ്ദേഹത്തെ അങ്ങനെ വിടാൻ തയ്യാറായിരുന്നില്ല. നീലി തൻ്റെ മായകൊണ്ട് കുട്ടിയോട് കൂടിയുള്ള ഒരു സ്ത്രീ രൂപം പ്രാപിക്കുകയും അദ്ദേഹത്തെ പിന്തുടർന്ന് ഗ്രാമത്തിൽ പ്രവേശിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. ഗ്രാമത്തിലുള്ള ആളുകളോട് നീലി പറഞ്ഞത് ഇയാള് എൻ്റെ ഭർത്താവ് ആണ്. എന്നെയും കുട്ടിയെയും ഒറ്റയ്ക്ക് ഇട്ട് ഓടി രക്ഷപ്പെടാൻ ശ്രമിക്കുകയാണ് എന്നൊക്കെയായിരുന്നു. ആ സമയത്ത് പോലും ഇതൊരു യക്ഷിയാണ്. നിങ്ങളാരും വിശ്വസിക്കരുത് എന്ന് ആനന്ദൻ കരഞ്ഞു പറഞ്ഞെങ്കിലും ആരും അത് ചെവികൊണ്ടില്ല.

Kaliyangat Neely, a fairy who seduces men traveling at night with her beautiful appearance and kills them with blood.
Kalliankat Neeli is a character in Southern songs, Valladichan songs and Travancore folklore. Sankunni’s legend in the palace also mentions Kalliankat Neeli. Once upon a time, Kalliankat Neeli was a story form that inspired the fear of children and teenagers. If asked to name a yakshi, one of the first names that we all come up with is Kalliankat Neeli. Because Neely is a rakshi character who has a place in the minds of so many Malayalees. Neely’s story is an old one, intertwining story and history. Now we are going to tell about how an ordinary woman named Alli became Kalliankat Neeli.
Neely’s abode was at Kalliangad, a place full of palm trees and pala trees in Nagercoil, the southern tip of old Kerala. But the true story of Kalliankad Neeli begins many years ago in a village south of Thiruvananthapuram, which was part of Thiruvananthapuram.
Alli is the daughter of Karveni, a Devadasi who used to buy Pazhkannur land in the 30s. Alli falls in love with Nambi, a priestess of the Shiva temple there, and later marries her. But Nambi had his eye only on Allah’s possessions.
Realizing this, Karveni kicks Nambi out of the house. When her husband was thrown out of the house, Alli defied her mother’s words and left the house with Nambi. On the way they were supposed to rest at a place called Kalliangad when Alli fell asleep with her head on her husband Nambi’s lap. At that time, the cheating Nambi kills his wife by hitting her on the head with a big stone and takes away Alli’s jewelry.
Ali’s brother Ambi rushes to both of them and sees Ali lying in a pool of blood. When he couldn’t bear the pain, he also hit his head and died there. After making off with Alli’s jewelry, Nambi didn’t live long. Within a few days, he too dies of a snake bite.
Years later, Alli and her brother Ambi are reborn as Nilan and Neeli, the sons of the king of the Chola kingdom. Since their birth, many problems started unfolding in the country. There were floods, epidemics and deaths. But soon the king learns from the soothsayers that the reason for the bad condition of his kingdom is his sons Neelan and Neely. With that, the king is forced to exile both of them.
So the king leaves both of them in the Panchavankat near Nagerkovil, the southern border of the Chola kingdom. But both of them came out of the forest with their demonic power and settled in the Kallian forest where Alli had been killed in the past in Pazhakannur. Along with that, bad deaths started becoming a daily occurrence in Pazhakannur.
Even during the daytime people were afraid to enter the place full of thorns and mountains called Kalliankad, even to travel through it. If anyone who didn’t know passed through it, their dead body would be lying under some palm tree at dawn the next day.
When Neelan and Neela’s harassment is unbearable, the villagers bring a sorcerer named Thambi from Nagercoil. Even if he was able to subdue Neelan with Thambi’s magical power, he could do nothing against the fiercely powerful Neely. And Neely used her powers to kill the witch.
Along with this, the villagers were afraid to come out of their houses even after dusk. While sitting like this, Neeli learns that Anandan, who is the reincarnation of her husband who cheated and killed her, is traveling through Panchaman forest for business purposes. Neely also seduced him with her beauty but Neely could not do anything to him because of the magic wand in his hand.
When Anandan realizes that what is in front of him is a Yakshi, he runs and enters the village of Pazhakannur. But Neely was not ready to leave him like that. Neeli disguised herself as a woman with child and followed him into the village. Neely told the people in the village that this is my husband. They were trying to run away leaving me and the child alone. Even then, it’s a fairy. Anandan cried and said that none of you should believe, but no one listened.
So, the dead body of Anand, who had to stay there that day, was seen by the villagers at dawn the next day. It was then that the villagers also realized that it was a salvation. As soon as Ananda, the reincarnation of Nambi, killed her and her brother, Kalliankat Neeli shed her monstrous form and resided under a Kallipala tree in her motherly form. After learning all the stories of Neely, the villagers began to remember them with reverence. This is the story of the terrible fairy called Kalliankat Neely. But there is a belief that even after killing Anand, Neeli was not contained and Katanar killed Neeli at Katamat and settled in Parumala Panayanarkav temple in Pathanamthitta district.
